 Never fear, it was just a(nother) bug! I didn't realize multiple people COULD survive the whole season.. 1st-3rd will split the 1st-3rd place prizes! As soon as I fix the bug and sort it all out tomorrow! :)
And how 'bout them skins?!  True, the first week's loss shouldn't count for placement either...  I agree, great season. Best of luck with the site. Will be back in March.

What web browser are you using? Because teams you picked in other weeks should all look "grayed out", but teams you picked in the past should be green and teams you picked in the future just gray (and the team this week in not-grayed out green). That's what it looks like to me at least in chrome! And Firefox. And IE.......?!??! jonsey, can you change it so that teams i have picked in the past and teams i have picked in the future are different so that when i am looking at my options i can see the difference? So, there is only one thing left to do to save face now that my wife won the other survivor pool. Win this one. For my self esteem, what little of it is left, I must succeed.  There are a lot more people left in this one than a lot of other one's i've seen floating around the internet.  yes! Good idea Mark. Send me a link!  I say Josh jones 11thplace and myself do a private 1 or 2 btc nfl survivor for the rest of the year. You guys down?  I had actually noticed that myself, and was going to fix the bug last night but the MNF game went SOOOOOOO LOOOOOOOONG so I fell asleep. BUT, I've fixed the bug now, and they're all re-eliminated!
Including me! How come a bunch of people who picked the Patriots are still alive in Survivor?  I win baseball, and I'm out 1st week in nfl :( Yup, you technically would have been better off not making a pick at all I guess. But I don't feel TOO bad not being able to pick the rams again, personally!
And I apologize for the bad pick reminder emails.. it looks like it was confused because the week already "started" (on Thursday), and so was checking if you had already made NEXT week's picks, and if you hadn't, it reminded you. Whoops.. I think I fixed that now!
And speaking of pick reminders.. if you didn't make your picks yet, you've got only 11 hours left to do so! Looks like someone finally read the rules...

Still a great site though! Good luck to everyone this week!  Wait, so it would have been better strategy to not pick anyone first week? If you lost on your first try, can you pick that team again in the future?  It's free, but it was only for the first week. One more wrong pick and there's no coming back.. this year at least! How much is buy back?  You were probably too late again, since it stopped allowing "buy back" (for free) as soon as the Thursday night game started! BUT.. technically you should still be allowed to "buy back" until the last game (Monday night) of this week starts.
So, I've updated it to that now. (You buy back in just by visiting the pool page, it'll automatically un-eliminate you since the buy back was ZERO.) How exactly do you "buy back in"? Do I just pick a team for this week? Is there a button I have to click to "buy back in"?  Aha.. the problem was I allowed buy-backs in the "first week" of the regular season.. and since the first game was on Wednesday it stopped allowing buy-backs yesterday at 5:20pm! I made that 8 days for now.. so you can still get in in the next 20 minutes peoples! So I'm trying to make my pick this week, says I've been eliminated, I'd like Houston this week, any help to make that pick is appreciated. thanks!  Weird.. I don't know how that happened, but I DESTRUCTED one now! Hooray for a practice week..
Good timing, the MLB Survivor pool just finally ended 30 minutes ago! Somehow I accidentally have two entries (#3 and #9) both titled Cheesebeger.  If you forgot to make a pick before the Wednesday night game (BOO Cowboys), DO NOT FEAR.
I've just updated the site so you can still pick a team so long as *their* game hasn't started that week. So, all you dozens of people with no pick so far are in luck, go pick something besides your wedgies.
Also, those of you who picked the Giants are also in luck.. you can now already exercise your week 1 "buy back in"... for FREE! Just visiting the pool page will auto-rebuy you.

The spread is just listed for reference then? I shouldn't make things so difficult. I totally agree! It's a good thing the survivor pool is NOT using the spread.. it's just going by who wins!
Only the pick em pool is using the spread. That's why the top of this page says "Pick a new team each week, if they lose... you're out." and that one says "If your pick beats or ties the point spread you get as many points as you wagered on that game."
Phew! I'm just throwing my opinion out there and i'm obviosly going to play both free pools no matter what, but I think using the spread on survivor ruins it. I like it with the weekly winners and how confident you are because you play each week and score points regardless.
The survivor pool is different though. The spread is suppose to make a game 50/50 basically, so each pick is a coin toss. I doubt it will make it pass week 7. Plus it takes the original strategy out of survivor pools, because you will eventually have to pick the shitty teams and this creates a strategy around their schedules. The spread eliminates the "shitty" teams because every pick is a coin toss. These are the best of the best picking these lines and any gambler knows you're lucky to pick 60 percent betting sports. Yup!
(Kevin is talking about the other pool.) So with the confidence rating, do you lose the entered amount of points if your pick is wrong?  Cool, thanks Josh. I posted the suggestion to our subreddit. We'll see :)  That is a good idea!
So good in fact, I've just implemented it. And I've also implemented a whole new pool type, the "pick em" pool.. which is the one where every week you just pick all the games, and whoever gets the most point each week wins 1/17th of the pot!
I also added an option to that pool making it a "confidence" pool, where instead of just getting 1 point per correct pick, you have to pre-specify a point value, and if you win, you get that many points!
So go, make one for you and your friends at the front page. AND, I've also made a free to enter with 30 BTC prize one here... by being a member of this pool you guys get to hear about it FIRST:

Is there a plan to include a pool that uses spreads? Each week you can make/change picks right up until the first game starts (Wednesday at 5:20pm this week)... and as soon as that happens you can see everybody else's picks too!
And nope, if you lose week 2, you're out! You have one free buyback in week one only. Basically, week one is "practice". And that's it! I am confused. If we win week 1, but lose week 2, can we buy back in for free? In other words, do we all have 1 free buy-back? @ Josh: Thanks! for running/funding this pool.
When do our picks get locked in? ie when is the latest we can edit/change our pick for the week? and when will be able to see what team everyone picked?

And a good idea. Thanks for the clarification. So it sounds like I should pick the worst team for the first week, unless you are allowing us to pick that team again... As someone who got eliminated in the first week of MLB Madness I approve this decision.  It's true! I clarified the wording now. I decided to make the first week a "practice week", because it's pretty frustrating to lose in the first week... AND football is so random it's hard to know before the first game who's ACTUALLY good.
You will have to actually come back and click the "buy back" link to continue though if you get eliminated in the first week. So we can buy back after the first week for zero bitcoins? I imagine you're missing an amount there.
